About the Hatboro-Horsham School District in Montgomery County Pennsylvania 

The Hatboro-Horsham School District’s elementary schools have earned the State Blue Ribbon Award for excellence, and 3 elementary schools in the district have received the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award.  

The Hatboro-Horsham School District has 1 satellite kindergarten center, 5 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. Recreational and instructional swimming is offered as part of the community aquatic program. The Jarrett Nature Center’s ponds, forests, wetlands, streams and meadows play a big role in educating the children in the natural sciences. The district also offers of variety of summer camps for the kids including computers, sports and music camps.

Hatboro is small, quaint community that calls itself “truly one of America's great towns”. The 2005 estimated population is 7,400 people. Hatboro was incorporated in 1871, although settlers were there as early as 1715. It has a rich early American history and well-maintained historic homes still grace the neighborhoods. Hatboro is home to the historic Willow Grove Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (historically called Pitcairn Field), which is one of the largest in the nation. Hatboro also has 3 parks with playgrounds, one lighted tennis court, a basketball court, a softball field, and a public swimming pool.  

Horsham Township
Horsham Township was established in 1717 and is named after the town of Horsham in Sussex County, England. However, early settlers were in the region as early as 1684. The Quaker’s were some of the first settlers to buy land in Horsham and the Horsham Friends Meeting House was one of the first significant community buildings. Horsham was surveyed by William Penn’s engineers, as were many of the local communities. The effect of these survey lines on Eastern Montgomery County is still obvious today. Development of the township became exponential after the railways came through the area. Today, Horsham Township is home to many quality residential neighborhoods and in November 2005, the average selling price of a home in Horsham was $459,600.  

The estimated population in 2005 of Horsham Township is 26,111 people. 

The township has 2 drainage basins that are part of the Delaware River System. It also is home to several excellent golf courses, and many business parks and corporate centers. Many specialty shops and small businesses are located throughout the township.
